Wedding Bells & Videos

Recently, 1824 House Inn + Barn, a luxurious B&B with a rustic barn event space nestled amidst a rolling landscape, offered a dream wedding package giveaway! Couples had to submit a video explaining why they wanted to win. Entries came from as close as the Valley and as far away as Spain.

The lucky winners, Sarah Kresock and Jake Ferreira, are thrilled.

Sarah said, “We feel so lucky to have been selected for the giveaway, but really we owe it to all the vendors for making this magic happen for us. Especially to Sean and Farrell, the Innkeepers at the 1824 House Inn + Barn for setting up the competition and for hosting this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! We had a lot of fun making the video, which allowed us to bring out our creative side and show off our appreciation for Vermont while showcasing our love! It was so fun.” Click to see their winning video.

The 1824 wedding package includes use of their inspiring event space, catering, custom cocktails, craft beer, music, flowers, photography, and even the wedding dress. “The inspiration for the contest was to show off our new small wedding packages as well as to highlight all the great businesses in the Valley,” innkeeper Sean Kramer said.

When Sarah and Jake say their vows, they will be in good company. Many dream weddings come to life in the Valley. Breathtaking landscapes, historic venues, and locavore delights in food and drink, all contribute to the special day. Intrepid couples can be seen riding chairlifts (watch the heels!) to romantic ceremonies on grassy mountaintop clearings and then riding the chairlifts back down the mountain to dance the night away in historic barns.

If you are interested in learning more about weddings in the Valley, the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce website is a good place to start.

Congratulations to this happy couple, and the many more who will wed in the Valley this year.
