Totally in for the Totality!
With the exception of stick season and mud season(s), we know that the Mad River Valley is the place to be. This will be even truer on Monday April 8th, 2:14 – 3:28 p.m., when we will be in an ideal viewing location for a total solar eclipse.
There are several ways to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime event (while wearing protective solar viewing glasses, of course):
From the comfort of your own yard, gathered with family and friends.
At the Sugarbush Viewing Party, where local favorite The Grift will play the entirety of Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” from the Lincoln Peak Courtyard.
At Knoll Farm, where owners and land stewards Helen Whybrow and Peter Forbes will provide a bonfire and the big-sky view, and you provide your own picnic.
For further details on the event and links to places to stay, check out the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce website.
To purchase solar viewing glasses, go to The Collection in the Mad River Green plaza in Waitsfield and other local retailers.
